Really listen to your kids.

So, I have a high school student now. Last year, Grey and I were in the car and he shares with me that one morning in class he was thinking to himself how nice it would be to be at home, chilling in flannel pants, playing spades with the family. He says that he made himself focus, told himself he had “miles to go” before that could happen (a phrase we say often) and decided to just focus on what he was doing right then, at that moment, on that day. He was like, “you know, just being in geometry, or lifting weights, or eating lunch and laughing with my friends, if I think about everything all at once its just too much.” Well, alrighty then. Aren’t car conversations the best? It makes me wish we lived in Jackson and had to commute home every afternoon.
When Mia was not quite two we were in Chattanooga and Brad was carrying her while we were in the downtown area. She grabbed his face and said, “Daddy, stop. Do you hear that?” “Hear what, baby?” “I hear God.” Okaaay….Brad: “What is He saying?” Mia: “He says Love.”
Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
